Please close the window once you have stopped watching the stream, in order to preserve bandwidth. Many thanks! During the hours of darkness, the cam may show just a blank, black screen or flashing images; it does not appear to be coping well with low light conditions.
What do you see?
You see a wide-angle view of the entrance to Stornoway harbour. From left to right: the three chimneys of the powerstation, then the blocky shape of the Coastguard Station. A stretch of sea to its right leads to the Arnish Lighthouse. Further to the right, the sheds of the Arnish Fabrication Yard can be made out. Vehicles can be seen passing in front, cars, lorries and the occasional local bus.
Our ferry can be seen at these approximate times.
07.15, 13.15, 13.45 and 20.00.
Freight ferry Muirneag keeps irregular times, but you get a good chance of seeing her at around 08.00 and 23.30.
NOTE: If you are watching from outside the UK, please remember there may be a (substantial) time-difference. Even if it's daylight where you are, it may well be dark here. This clock shows local time.
